👀 Scammers often:
- Use newly created fanpage, get photos from real page
- Post shocking promotions, request quick transfer
- Do not leave clear address information
💡 To owner of accommodation and tourist avoid falling into the trap, Anti-fraud propose:
- Increase the credibility of your fanpage by livestreaming regularly at specific times.
- Post photos with watermark/phone number/fanpage name
- Publicly transparent deposit policy (no deposit or only below a specific amount)
- Actively respond to comments and messages – avoid being identified as an “inactive page”
- Post scam warnings on fanpages and local travel groups
- Contact the Department of Tourism where you registered to verify and ask for support to link to the real fanpage.
