Recently, many people have reported receiving Call claiming to be from ward officials, police, electricity... request to update information on CCCD, VNeID, electricity and water bills because "the locality has just merged". Along with that are the Strange link, asking to install app, sending OTP code - sophisticated but very dangerous tricks.

SCAMS ARE GOING ON
📞 Impersonating electricity and telecommunications
• Call to request to update ID card/CCCD information due to "change of administrative area"
• Threaten to cut off electricity/water/Internet if you do not comply
• Lures to malicious links or fake apps
🏛️ Impersonating local officials
• Claiming to be the "new provincial administration"
• Request to provide household registration book, bank account number, VNeID
• Send fake invitations to lure people
🆔 Trick to update VNeID/CCCD with chip
• Send a message asking to “upgrade your identity account”
• Send fake links to the Ministry of Public Security website or the Public Service Portal
🔮 TRICKS THAT MAY APPEAR
Fraudulent re-registration of land and house ownership
• Impersonating the Department of Natural Resources and Environment
• Charge a “fast track” fee or require the original documents to be returned
Scam to support license plate and driver's license conversion
• Create scenario: “Province merger → change area code → change license plate”
• Tricking into paying “conversion fees” via e-wallet
Impersonating tax authorities/ANND/People's Committee
• Collect fees in the form of “new residence check”
• Use fake VNeID app to get OTP
Bank 'update' trick
• Send SMS impersonating the bank about “updating new address”
• Tricking people into logging into fake websites to steal OTP and card information
