The report also highlights the prevalence of scams through platforms like Facebook and Gmail, with 71% of victims falling for scams through these channels. Platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp also played significant roles in luring victims into fraudulent schemes.

One notable finding in the report is the rise of "pig butchering" scams, which accounted for 21% of all scams in 2023. Many victims were lured into fake investment and online shopping scams, resulting in substantial financial losses.
